Study Programs

The Department of Industrial Physics and Instrumentation offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Science (PhD) degrees for students seeking either employment in high-tech industries and medical instrument companies or research study opportunities. We offer education and research in the areas of applied or pure physics, medical physics, biomedical engineering, materials science, optical engineering, or nanotechnology and related fields.

   Since the department places a high value on practical experience and preparing our students for the workforce, all students are also required to do an Industry Internship. This program consists of not less than 200 hours of work in a cooperating organization. The students in the internship program learn the basics of the industry and gain a founding in their chosen field. This internship occurs during third year and typically take about 2 months.

About us

The Department of Industrial Physics and Medical Instrumentation was founded in May of 1988 to fill a critical need in medical and emerging technologies. It provided the first Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Medical Instrumentation in Thailand. Since then, the department has continued to grow and now offers 8 different programs that explore the cutting edge of applied physics. The department also provides laboratory facilities for the development of practical skills and for new research.
